Spoiler alert On last week’s episode, Russ Faria (Glenn Fleshler) was exonerated of Betsy’s murder. Now, more and more people are becoming more suspicious of Pam. On top of it all, Pam’s mother, Shirley, dies after falling from a balcony at her assisted living home. We’re left to wonder: Did she fall or was she pushed? In this week’s episode of The Thing About Pam, “She’s Not Who You Think She Is,” Pam gains notoriety when Dateline airs an episode about the case. Pam quickly realizes infamy isn’t as enjoyable as the spotlight she once relished as the prosecution’s star witness in the original trial. As she squares off against Betsy’s daughters in a civil suit for the insurance money, public opinion turns against her. Leah Askey (Judy Greer) finds her seat as District Attorney challenged by Mike Wood (Dane Davenport), whose campaign centers around Pam’s connection to Betsy’s murder. Five years have passed since the murder of Betsy Faria (Kathy Mixon). Russ Faria has been exonerated and Betsy’s daughters have yet to see any of the money from their mother’s insurance policy. A policy that Betsy named Pam Hupp the sole beneficiary of less than a week before her death. The same policy that Hupp claimed she would give to Betsy’s daughters as was Betsy’s wish. Judy Greer, who plays District Attorney Leah Askey, is better known for her comedy chops with roles on Arrested Development, Miss Guided and Archer. So what drew her to the NBC docu-series, The Thing About Pam and the role of Leah Askey? Greer told Parade.com, “I’m always trying to challenge myself as an artist. I don’t often get roles like this, and I was so excited. The people making this are so talented and to be in the same room with them was a real honor. It was a dream come true. I’m still pinching myself.” The Thing About Pam airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC. Next, 32 True Crime Podcasts Worthy of an Immediate Binge-Listen
