Who is Eddie Munson in Stranger Things?
Announced as a new addition to Stranger Things Season 4 by TVLine way back in 2020 (although he was first hinted at by the same publication in late 2019), Eddie was originally described as “an audacious 80’s metalhead who runs The Hellfire Club, Hawkins High’s official D&D club. Hated by those who don’t understand him—and beloved by those who do—Eddie will find himself at the terrifying epicenter of this season’s mystery.” As fans start tuning in to the new episodes, it’s clear that this description is spot-on. In Stranger Things Season 4, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Will (Noah Schnapp), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), and the others are finally leaving behind middle school to take on the much more intimidating high school. When they get there, they meet some interesting upperclassmen, including Eddie. Eddie is a little strange yet charming, and he was actually supposed to graduate from high school in 1984, two years before Stranger Things Season 4 is set. While he’s a well-meaning teenager, Eddie also dabbles in selling drugs, mainly weed. When someone buys more serious drugs from him, the experience goes terribly wrong, thrusting Eddie right in the middle of the season’s new mystery.
