The pretty blonde, 26, looked hurt when Jason A. was brutally candid about his feelings during the second episode of ABC’s first two-women season. Rachel was optimistic about Jason at first, telling the cameras she was smitten by the investment banker, 30, from Santa Monica, Calif. Viewers saw how Rachel and ICU nurse Gabby, 31, welcomed six men on the first group date, including Jason. “I am really looking forward to getting to know Jason who definitely caught Gabby’s and I’s eye,” Rachel gushed. “I’m excited to see how he is more on one-on-one time. Best case scenario, I get a kiss. Maybe two!” Rachel said in confessional before sitting down with Jason. When Rachel asked him how he felt about the two bachelorettes concept, Jason got serious and replied, “I feel like I should be upfront. To be honest, when I got here, I felt like a connection to Gabby.” Rachel looked crestfallen, but nodded. Jason continued, “Yeah,” and added, making the moment more awkward, “I truly think you’re like the most genuine, beautiful—” Rachel laughed, “Believe me, you’re fine!” Jason said, “I just want to tell you that because I can feel you’re a truly genuine person.” Later, the flight instructor admitted to the cameras that she’d been deflated by Jason’s one-on-one candor. “I was a little disappointed this is the first conversation,” she said on Monday night’s episode. “He is someone who is basically going to be for Gabby.” She hoped things would turn around in her search for love on the show. As Bachelorette fans know, however, Rachel later didn’t feel a connection with her one-on-one date choice, race car driver Jordan V.—and sent him packing!
