The Backstreet Boys member, 42, shared a couple of photos on Instagram on Saturday, Nov. 19, giving his followers a glimpse into the rehearsals for the boy band’s upcoming Christmas special. “It’s never easy to jump right back in,” he wrote in the caption on the post. “But I’m grateful to have the chance to do something so special that can hopefully bring love and joy to peoples lives.” Just two weeks prior, Nick shared an emotional Instagram post to mourn the loss of his brother, who he admitted he had a “complicated relationship” with over the years. “I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed,” the singer wrote on Nov. 6, which featured a series of sweet childhood photos of the two siblings. “Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here.” Aaron, the crooner behind hits like “I Want Candy” and “I’m All About You,” was found dead in the bathtub of his home in Lancaster, Calif., although the official cause of death has not yet been released. “I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know,” Nick wrote in his heartbreaking Instagram post, which concluded with the message, “God, please take care of my baby brother.” Following Nick’s most recent Instagram post, swarms of his fans took to the comments to offer their condolences and commend the musician for his strength during this difficult time. “You’ve got this Nick. Stay strong,” one person wrote. “You know we will always be right here with you, for anything that you need. love you so much ❤️,” another added. During the weekend of Aaron’s death, Nick and the rest of his bandmates shared a tribute for the late musician, who they all considered a “family member.” “We just wanted to find a moment in our show to recognize Nick’s little brother, Aaron Carter,” Kevin Richardson said during the London show, while the song “No Place” played in the background. “He was a part of our family and we thank you guys for all the love and all the well wishes and all the support,” Richardson added.
