The Masked Singer host took to Instagram on Monday, Dec. 5 to share a touching message to the late 5-month-old son he shares with Alyssa Scott one year after the baby boy passed away from a rare form of brain cancer last December. Cannon, 42—who was recently hospitalized following a bout with pneumonia—wrote, “Physically I’m definitely on the mend but Mentally and Spiritually I’m broken,” in the caption of his post on Monday. “Been tossing and turning all night, and as much as I know I need rest, last night I couldn’t sleep at all,” his caption continued. “I can’t believe it’s been a year already since the toughest day of my life occurred. Such a painful anniversary.” In December 2021, the TV personality announced the news on The Nick Cannon Show, revealing that his son’s health took a turn for the worse last Thanksgiving. “Losing a child has to be the heaviest, most dark and depressive experiences that I will never get over,” he added in Monday’s post. “A mixture of guilt, pain, and sorrow is what I suppress daily.” He also included a series of three photos of Zen, his seventh child, from the short time they spent together. “I am far from perfect and often fall short and make decisions in my life that many question, but anyone who knows me knows my heart. I love hard. I love big and I love with my entire Heart and Soul,” he wrote. “I just wish my Little Man could’ve felt more of that love while he was here on Earth.” At the time Cannon first shared the devastating news to the public, he also revealed that he and Scott had the chance to take their sweet babe to the ocean one last time before he sadly passed. Now, the pair are currently expecting their second child together, who will become Cannon’s twelfth child with six different women. In Monday’s post, the former America’s Got Talent host went on to say, “One of my Spiritual Leaders recently told me that I am in the midst of one of the most challenging seasons of my life, but encouraged me to be steadfast and know that all of this will only make me stronger, and to not lean on my own understanding but to rely on the peace that surpasses all.” “But let me tell you, it’s tough,” he admitted.
