Of course, not every twosome paired up by the show’s experts has worked out; many MAFS couples have opted for divorce on Decision Day. And even when a couple does choose to stay married come Decision Day, it’s not always a guarantee they’ll stay together forever… Throughout the 13-plus seasons of Married at First Sight, the reality TV show that binds strangers in holy matrimony has seen fewer lasting marriages than it has seasons. With only 13 couples still married, it’s no wonder MAFS has turned into one of the most dramatic series on TV. Which MAFS couples are still together? Keep reading to find out!

Married at First Sight Couples still together in 2021

Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner

Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner are the original Married at First Sight success story. On Season 1 of the Lifetime original series, Otis and Hehner got off to a rough start, with Otis saying she wasn’t attracted to her husband right away. But soon, the couple realized they were perfect for each other and opted to stay married at the end of the experiment. View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Jamie Otis Hehner ✨???? (@jamienotis) Their reality TV story didn’t end there. The couple starred in Married at First Sight: The First Year and was the only Season 1 couple to stay together and not get a divorce after the cameras stopped filming. Otis and Hehner had their first child, a daughter named Henley, in August 2017 and since then, have been extremely candid and vocal about their struggles to have more children. In 2018, Otis announced on Instagram that she had a chemical miscarriage—a pregnancy loss that happens after implantation. A few months later, Otis announced they were expecting again, only to suffer a miscarriage again. Otis and Hehner also filmed spin-offs like Married at First Sight: Jamie and Doug Plus One and Otis continues to host the show Married at First Sight: Unfiltered. The couple celebrated their five-year wedding anniversary in March 2019 by renewing their vows in Curacao. Months later, Otis announced she was pregnant again. On Instagram, she wrote, “We went to the fertility specialist and found out WE ARE PREGNANT!!! I cannot even believe it! After 18 long, painful months, two losses and negative after negative on the pregnancy tests we are finally pregnant again! Of course I am being cautiously optimistic, but I have a feeling this little one is going to stick.” She gave birth to a baby boy, Hendrix, and they are now a happy family of four with Otis writing in her Instagram bio that she’s a “mommy of angels earthside & in heaven.” These days, Otis is still very much a part of the Married at First Sight community as she hosts the after shows that come on right after each episode.

Ashley Petta and Anthony D’Amico

Between Seasons 1 and 4 of Married at First Sight, several couples opted to stay together at the end of the experiment—but after cameras stopped filming, chose to get divorced. MAFS fans didn’t get another real success story until Season 5, when Ashley Petta and Anthony D’Amico came along. On Decision Day, the couple opted to stay married and to this day, they still are happily together. While Petta was six months pregnant, she and D’Amico moved into their first home together. The couple gave birth to a daughter, Mila Rose D’Amico, in January 2019 and shared photos of their newborn in an Us Weekly spread. They welcomed their second daughter, Vaeda Marie, in February 2021.

Shawniece Jackson and Jephte Pierre

Shawniece Jackson and Jephte Pierre chose to stay married on Decision Day in Season 6 of Married at First Sight. Though the couple admitted they weren’t in love with each other, they chose to see the marriage through. Fans may remember Jackson and Pierre getting off to a rough start: After all, for weeks, Pierre refused to sleep in the same bed as his wife. That’s why it was such a shock to many fans when Jackson and Pierre announced they were expecting their first child together in April 2018. Jackson gave birth to a daughter, Laura Denise Pierre, in August 2018. Less than a year later, the couple became homeowners for the first time together. To date, Jackson and Pierre still star on Married at First Sight: Couples’ Cam where they are honest about their day-to-day struggles as a couple. Though they may be struggling to communicate well on the show, but they are very much still together and have been for four years and counting.

Bobby Dodd and Danielle Bergman

You may remember Bobby Dodd and Danielle Bergman from Season 7 as the duo that immediately hit it off. The couple is perhaps the only couple in MAFS history to never have a conflict or tiff on camera and on Decision Day, it was no shock that they chose to stay married. On Decision Day, Dodd got down on one knee and gave Bergman the proposal she thought she was never going to get. Of course, she accepted the engagement ring and even noted how special it was since she didn’t think she’d ever get the chance to be engaged. At the reunion, Bergman announced she was expecting and the couple eventually welcomed a daughter named Olivia Nicole Dodd in February 2019. They then went on to also star in Married at First Sight: Happily Ever After and had another child together, Robert Elvin Dodd IV, in 2020.

AJ Vollmoeller and Stephanie Sersen

On Season 8 of Married at First Sight, fans watched AJ Vollmoeller and Stephanie Sersen’s relationship unfold and from the get-go, things seemed nearly picture-perfect. It wasn’t surprising at all when, come Decision Day, both Sersen and Vollmoeller chose to stay married. Throughout their season, however, Sersen seemed to be more vocal about her affection and even declared that she loved Vollmoeller on Decision Day. Alternatively, Vollmoeller said he’d rather express those feelings when the cameras weren’t there. But more recently, Vollmoeller has gotten a bit more comfortable sharing his feelings for his wife with the world. Just this past October, Vollmoeller got down on one knee and proposed to his wife. Sersen gushed on Instagram, “Getting married at first sight gets you the man, and if you’re lucky and work hard, that man becomes the love of your life. But what MAFS brides never get is that blackout moment of a proposal or engagement ring. I knew AJ treats our anniversaries special because every year marriage at first sight is a huge milestone. But this proposal surprised me so much!”

Kristine Killingsworth and Keith Dewar

Another success story from Season 8 is KristineKillingsworth and KeithDewar. Throughout Season 8, fans saw Killingsworth push her husband, expecting him to learn how to cook, clean the house and even work out more. However, the challenge was welcome, and Dewar really rose to the occasion. While Dewar seemed ready to have a child right away, Killingsworth expressed that her timeline looked closer to five years. Come Decision Day, they agreed to stay married and even said, “I love you,” to one another. The couple bought their first home together, a fixer-upper, in 2019 and are renovating it together. They also celebrated their third anniversary this past year vacationing in Jamaica together.

Deonna McNeill and Gregory Okotie

Still going strong! In Season 9 of Married at First Sight, fans met Deonna McNeill and Gregory Okotie. While the couple struggled to communicate—mostly because of McNeill’s hesitation to be vulnerable—they ultimately developed feelings for each other and admitted they were falling in love. Before Okotie, McNeill hadn’t been in a relationship for 10 years, so it took a while for the couple to get where they are today. Speaking of where they are today, both McNeill and Okotie chose to stay married on Decision Day and are together to this day. Come the reunion, McNeill and Okotie said they had an important announcement, but gave fans a total fake-out. Just as viewers thought they were going to announce a pregnancy, they announced they were becoming an aunt and uncle. McNeill’s sister gave birth to their nephew, Titan, Christmas Eve 2019. However, since then, McNeill and Okotie have welcomed their own children—two sons! Proud “boy parents,” they continue to film on Couples’ Cam, documenting their lives post-MAFS for super fans.

Elizabeth Bice and Jamie Thompson

Season 9 turned out another successful couple—Elizabeth Bice and Jamie Thompson. Bice and Thompson clicked right away, with Beth even complaining on their honeymoon that they couldn’t have sex because she had her period. Eventually, Bice and Thompson consummated the marriage, but sex quickly developed into a point of contention for the couple, resulting in many explosive fights that, at times, seemed like they would lead to the demise of their relationship. Through name-calling (the term “materialistic c—” comes to mind), threats of divorce and even moving out, Bice and Thompson stuck it out and managed to stay together up until Decision Day when they both chose to stay married. By the reunion, Bice and Thompson were (surprisingly) still together and remain married to this day, shooting for Couples’ Cam. They have also continued documenting their relationship on YouTube and have been vulnerable with fans about their difficult fertility journey. Bice and Thompson are still actively trying to get pregnant and give followers an update every once and a while.

Jessica Studer and Austin Hurd

The cutest awkward couple MAFS ever saw, Jessica Studer and Austin Hurd hit it off from day one on Season 10. They giggled together, very seldom argued, and seemed a perfect match from the start. While both were concerned about work travel, opposing schedules, and whether or not they wanted to say, “I love you,” they stayed together on Decision Day. Still together today and now recognized as one of the fandom’s favorite couples, Studer recently gave birth to their son, Westin Paul. Studer wrote on Instagram, “The last few days have been a blur and it’s crazy this little man is ours! Welcome Westin Paul, we are so in love with you. We are all healthy and adjusting! As exhausting as these first few days have been the snuggles really do make it all worth it.”

Amani Aliyaa and Woody Randall

Season 11 was a relatively successful one for the franchise, with two couples ultimately staying together and improving the show’s track record. New Orleans natives Amani Aliyya and Woody Randall were learning to love each other when the pandemic hit and though coronavirus self-isolation has a way of making or breaking a couple, it strengthened the Randalls. At the reunion, Woody presented his wife with a diamond ring and they’ve been going strong ever since. Aliyya wrote to her husband on Instagram, “You’re always the best decision for me. I love being able to witness your growth and love for life. I pray that this new year is filled with more joy while your greatest dreams come to life. You work so hard and deserve all of the blessings headed your way! Thanks for sharing your love with me each and everyday. You’re the best husband I’ve ever had!”

Miles Williams and Karen Landry

Another success story of Season 11, Miles Williams and Karen Landry are still married today. Though there was a bit of an age gap between them, the couple continue to grow in love, getting stronger and stronger throughout the season. While things seemed rocky for a bit, they chose to stay married on Decision Day and appeared even tighter at the reunion. According to Instagram, they’ve been traveling together and remain stronger than ever.

Briana Myles and Vincent Morales

Season 12 gave us Briana Myles and Vincent Morales, the only successful married couple to come out of the season filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. From the first episode, fans could see why Briana and Vincent were matched and they could see it, too! They almost always seemed to be on the same page though they had their rough patches at times. “When I first saw him, I thought his smile is gorgeous and then from there, we both had a good vibe,” Myles told E! News. “His family was great and I think if someone’s family is great, it makes him even more attractive… There was attraction at first sight, not just physical.”

Rachel Gordillo and Jose San Miguel Jr.

The only couple still married from Season 13 is Rachel Gordillo and Jose San Miguel Jr., though they were technically on a break at the MAFS reunion. Still legally married, however, and apparently working on things, the couple endured a lot during the eight-week experiment. At first, everything was coming up roses for Gordillo and San Miguel Jr., but they quickly hit a bump in the road after Gordillo called her husband by another man’s name. The fight escalated into a nasty one and ultimately, San Miguel Jr. locked her out of the apartment that night. (He claims it wasn’t intentional, however.) Since the Season 13 reunion only just aired, it’s difficult to ascertain where this couple is in their relationship. As far as we know, they’re still married and giving it another go.

Which recent MAFS couples split?

Married at First Sight fans were flabbergasted during the recent string of break-ups in otherwise seeming solid couples. Erik and Virginia (Season 12) called it quits with a nasty break-up that played out on TikTok and Instagram. Clara and Ryan (Season 12) also filed for divorce in recent months despite planning a New Year’s Eve vow renewal for NYE 2022. Perhaps most shockingly, Amelia and Bennett (Season 11) also called it quits. Perfectly quirky together—they flossed together every night and wrote each other poems and songs—fans of the franchise rooted for them well after they chose to stay married on Decision Day. And though they were still lucky in love come the reunion episode, the couple has since disbanded. A source told a MAFS fan account, “BenMelia is no more. In his words ‘she unexpectedly and inexplicably dumped me.’” If you like Married at First Sight, you’d probably dig 90 Day Fiance.
