In a recent piece for Interview, Kardashian shared her vision and dreams for the future explaining that her American dream is steeped in a hope shared by most—for an America as just, caring and great as we’re taught it is in elementary U.S. history books. Kardashian gave a glimpse into her busy schedule, which includes two hours a day of studying with a law professor. She is studying Civil Procedure and Criminal Procedure and analyzing the ins and outs of Roe v. Wade and its recent overturning by the U.S. Supreme Court. Passionately speaking about the state of the union, she told the outlet, “Just seeing how far our country has progressed, to then see it regress—it’s really scary to think that gay marriage is in jeopardy. If a court can decide what a woman does with her body, then it also puts having children through surrogacy, and things that I have been through, in jeopardy. I always believed people should live their lives exactly how they want to, so it’s really scary to see all of this happening.” Her relationship with law can be traced back to her late father, Robert Kardashian, who became publicly known for representing O.J. Simpson in his landmark trial in the mid-90’s. He passed away when Kim was just 22. Kardashian’s interest in law is in her family lineage. “Once I saw how broken the system is, I couldn’t stop. I have to help as many people as I can. These people are thrown away and put in prison and no one cares. It’s so heartbreaking,” she said. So what is Kardashian’s real talent? Is it as a lawyer? Activist? Or businesswoman? Kardashian explains, “I think my talent is marketing and the business behind selling products and knowing what the customer wants and making it feel attainable, but also a bit unattainable at the same time. I wouldn’t say that’s a talent. I think it’s a bit of magic and business savvy. Maybe it is talent, I don’t know.” This summer alone, Kardashian partnered with Beats on new chic earbuds, released a new Utility Sport line under her brand, SKIMS, and announced she’s launching her own skincare collection—SKKN BY KIM. Perhaps, it’s more fitting to say Kardashian’s talent doesn’t lay in one specific place. It’s evenly spread between an array of unique fields. If there’s one thing we’ve learned about Kardashian since we’ve gotten to know her, it’s that she’s not to be underestimated.
