The now-34-year-old Kevin was also the first of the brothers to marry; he fell in love with hairdressser and fellow New Jersey native DanielleDeleasa and tied the knot after a few years of dating. The two of them would go on to star in the reality show Married to Jonas, which debuted in August 2012 and ran for two seasons. When the Jonas Brothers publicly split in 2013, Kevin, unlike his brothers, moved over into the business space, appearing on Celebrity Apprentice in 2014. He also became co-CEO of Blu Market Company, which supports social media influencers, and co-founded a construction company called JonasWerner. Kevin’s wife was there through it all, and when the brothers found their way back to each other, reuniting in 2019, she co-starred in the music video for one of their comeback tracks, “Sucker”—alongside the JoBros and Joe and Nick’s respective significant others, actresses Sophie Turner and Priyanka Chopra. And Danielle makes another brief foray back into showbiz when she appears alongside her famous family members on Netflix’s new Jonas Brothers Family Roast, which premieres Tuesday, Nov. 23 on the streaming platform. Keep reading to find out everything we know about Kevin Jonas and wife Danielle, including how they met, how his brothers predicted they’d get married, the beef their youngest daughter had with Aunt Priyanka and how they’ve stayed together so long.
Is Kevin Jonas married?
Yes; since 2009, in fact! Danielle also grew up in New Jersey—in Denville, which is about half an hour from where the Jonas brothers grew up, in Wyckoff. When she met Jonas, she was a hairdresser. These days, the 35-year-old Danielle is a jewelry designer, making “dainty and timeless” jewelry for her own company, Danielle Jonas Co. “I went with jewelry because of my consistent efforts of searching for the perfect pieces whether it was for myself or for someone special in my life,” she told Forbes in 2019. “I’m very sentimental and I feel jewelry is the best creation of a keepsake that can be worn every day.” Danielle isn’t in the limelight most of the time, but she played the part of a diva really well in the “Sucker” video, sporting a huge gown and walking a group of corgis. (Fun fact: That scene was shot at Hatfield House, where Queen Elizabeth I grew up!) “I was honored,” Danielle said about being in the video. “It was nerve-wracking because I’m just shy; I don’t do that stuff. Pri and Sophie are out in the public and they do movies. I was so nervous about standing next to them but everyone was so sweet to me and encouraging.” Kevin loved the experience so much, he got a new tattoo to represent Danielle in the video. “Brand new addition to the fam. So proud of this time in our life and getting to remember this with @daniellejonas forever!,” Jonas said when he posted a shot of the tat on Instagram. Her response? “He’s getting a little carried away with the tattoos,” she gently joked in an interview. “He’s starting to do with it what I’ve done with jewelry my whole life, which is getting dainty little things so I can add on later.” Kevin already has a “Dani” tat on the ring finger of his left hand, a set of four doves, and even a tattoo of his daughter’s favorite stuffed animals.
How did Kevin Jonas meet his wife?
The two lovebirds met quite accidentally—and just the way fans wish they’d meet their faves. They happened to be on separate family vacations at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. “I didn’t know who the Jonas Brothers were,” Danielle would say later. But to her credit, not many other people did either. “At the time, it was early enough in our career that we weren’t really in a place where people were coming up to us,” Kevin recalled. After meeting her briefly, Kevin saw her again the next day. “I thought, ‘Gosh, every time I see Danielle, her hair looks so pretty, it’s like someone did it.’ And she was the one who always did it. It just looked like she always took care of herself. She always presented herself in a good way, and that just really attracted me. It was an attraction at first sight.” He got her number from her older sister, but she wasn’t sold on the idea that it would last longer than their vacation, though. “He lived in L.A. [at the time], and I was on a family vacation. I thought, I’m never going to see this kid again, so why would I spend time away from my family while we’re on vacation? I was like, “why should I waste my time?” So Kevin set out to make sure that she knew he wanted something more long-term. As he later explained, “I was the one that was pursuing her most of the time and I didn’t want her out of my sight. She actually ran away twice.” He called her the minute her plane landed back in Jersey (he tracked her flight, of course!). “You know how you’re supposed to meet somebody and call like two or three days later? Well, I cyberstalked her after we met and cyberstalked to see what flight she was going to be on coming home, and then I called her the minute she landed. That might have been a little overboard, but I just went for it,” he recalled to Glamour in 2012. Kevin’s brothers were quick to see the connection happening. In their Chasing Happiness documentary, they interrupt a phone call between the couple; Joe says “It’s Kevin’s future wife” and after getting chastised by Kevin, Nick adds, “Sorry. We were just excited because she’s your wife.”
Is Kevin Jonas still married?
Kevin proposed in July 2009, flying home after a show to pop the question. “It was tough performing last night, knowing that I was going to ask the biggest question in my life to the most amazing girl in the world,” he told PEOPLE at the time. “She said yes, yes, yes like 500 times super fast in a row.” She added to the outlet, “It still feels like a dream.” Years later, in July 2021, he shared a shot of the proposal on Instagram, writing, “Twelve years ago when digital cameras couldn’t zoom. Happy engagement day baby girl."
When did Kevin Jonas get married?
Kevin and Danielle finally married on December 19, 2009. She wore a lace and tulle Vera Wang gown for the big day.
Where did Kevin Jonas get married?
Kevin and Danielle got married at Oheka Castle in Huntington, New York. “Kevin had a snowstorm at his wedding,” Joe Jonas shared on James Corden’s show (“three and a half feet,” added Kevin), “so maybe don’t get married in December.” Joe was also amazed at the enchanted winter forest theme of his brother’s wedding. “This is crazy,” he said during the reception. “I can’t top this.” The venue even shared a video of the couple’s big day.
Does Kevin Jonas have kids?
When they were doing the reality show, the couple started out with fur babies; they had a Maltese and a Morkie that appeared on the show. “So many people have said that to us, like, ‘You’re so young, why the rush to get married?’ but honestly, from the minute we met to the minute we got married, we wanted to do things our way. We’ll do kids in our time as well,” he said in 2012. However, the couple soon turned their attention to human babies. They now have two daughters: Alena Rose Jonas, born on February 2, 2014, and Valentina Angelina Jonas, born on October 27, 2016. Kevin confirmed their first pregnancy in April 2013. “Can’t even imagine how excited we are I can’t wait to share this with my best friend. I love you, baby,” he tweeted. In a move that drew mixed reactions from fans, Dreft detergent (which had a partnership with Kevin and Danielle) shared the first picture of their first baby and revealed her name. “On this day a little star was born,” the brand shared on social media. “Meet Alena Rose Jonas.” Valentina, the youngest, didn’t get all the attention from Dreft that her sister got, but she’s very spirited and makes news in her own way; for instance, she’s very close to her uncle Nick and used to push his now-wife’s hand off of his shoulder when she first met Chopra (they get along well now!). Like most parents of young kids, they find parenthood to be a juggling act, especially with the arrival of Valentina in October of 2016. “I think [Danielle] was more of a wreck than anyone else,” Kevin said after the birth of their youngest. “It definitely became very real ’cause you’re in the moment, you’re obviously going through labor and she has the baby and it’s euphoric and awesome. And then reality strikes in when your other one walks in the door.” “It’s been definitely crazy and a learning curve,” Danielle told PEOPLE in 2016. “It feels like you have five kids when you have two because you’re juggling.” “They’re both insanely proud of the parenting job the other days. “Oh man, Dani gives so much of herself, it is insane,” Kevin says. “She works herself to the bone. She’s up till two o’clock every morning and up at seven, six, or whatever [is needed] and [doing] multiple [feedings] through the night. But then she finds ways to give time for both and make them both feel so special, even though there’s two. And even time for me!” Danielle is just as happy with the parent her husband has turned out to be. “He steps up to the plate. He’s working and everything, but then he’ll see, like, in the morning I’ll need a little sleep, so he’ll give me the sleep. And just to see the way he looks at Valentina when he’s feeding her, he has this connection with her… with Alena, he was a little bit more afraid in the beginning because it was something totally new, and now it’s like they’re best buddies.” The two girls inspire both their parents. Kevin has his stuffed animal tattoo, and Danielle says her pieces are inspired by her daughters. Her daughters are also inspired by their mom; Valentina already asks to wear mom’s jewelry. The children have even inspired their parents to write books; in September, Kevin and Danielle had their first children’s book, There’s a Rock Concert in My Bedroom. And having two little ones makes it complicated during the holidays because everyone wants to be with their kids. “It’s actually complicated because everybody pines for time [with the girls]! But we want them even more — everybody can come live with us when we have the kids because we can be like, ‘Here you go!’” Kevin has said.
What’s the secret to Kevin and Danielle Jonas’ happy marriage?
When asked for three words to describe each other in 2012, Kevin and Danielle were quick to gush. “Sweet, beautiful and gracious,” Kevin said. “Very loving, crazy, and very generous,” Danielle replied. But Kevin got married when he was just 22, in the midst of a wildly successful career. How does he keep his marriage to Danielle going strong as they approach their 12th wedding anniversary? In the early years, he brought her on tour. “I think traveling as much as we do and being on the road, the craziest thing [about being married] is probably having our own little tour bus. For me and Danielle, it’s been our little house with Dani setting it up. Not many people get to do that, and we did so it was pretty great,” Kevin said in 2012. Since having the kids though, things have changed. “It’s hard,” he said in October 2019 on the podcast Chicks in the Office. “I fly home as much as I can. Say we have a day off, [I] get up at 5 and fly home, turn it around the next morning, and I’ll be home for 18 hours. There isn’t much of a balance… but at least you’re there.” He keeps his girls on his mind when he’s working; a fan noticed that one side of his guitar pick said K&D (their initials) and the other side said A&D (for their daughters). Like many celebrity couples, the Jonases have gotten closer since quarantining at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. “I feel like this time has been really rewarding, to be able to spend with the family," Kevin said during a May 2020 interview on SiriusXM Hits 1’s The Morning Mashup. “We’ve actually been getting on very well, so I’m happy with that.” Kevin also keeps romancing his wife. “I’m so happy you had to make that call 11 years ago,” Kevin wrote on Instagram in 2020 for their anniversary, along with a pic of the couple on two different pay phones next to each other. “This is the spot we met and I thank God everyday for the gift he gave me,” he said. “Here’s to 100 more baby. I love you.” He also shared on Instagram Stories that he’d set up string lights, candles, balloons and arranged pillows and blankets on the floor with a canopy, just right for the TV fireplace display (and popcorn buckets!) he set up. “Happy 11th Anniversary !! I love that when I look at you I am home. I hate to be without you bc when I am with you I feel complete,” Danielle wrote in her own post. “You are my other half and I love you!” It also helps that his wife is supportive of his career. “We work so well,” she explained. “I don’t need for everyone to know me, or to know me as much as they know him. I feel like, I just want to see his goals come out and his career be huge. It doesn’t bother me, because I want it to be about him.”
