Diners at Forgan’s restaurant were joined on Tuesday night by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who are touring Scotland and who had just arrived in the town of St. Andrews following a day of engagements. They celebrated the trip down memory lane by booking a date night, requesting a private area at the back of the restaurant. People reports that William and Kate—who go by their titles ‘The Earl and Countess of Strathearn’ when in Scotland—had a “quiet” meal, according to a manager at Forgan’s. “There was no pomp and circumstance or fanfare.” So what did the Earl and Countess of Strathearn have for their dinner? Alas, we don’t know. But the menu offers everything from traditional Scottish dishes like haggis, neeps and tatties (offal, turnip and mashed potatoes) to American classics like mac and cheese (given a Scottish twist by way of locally-sourced lobster.) And what did Kate wear? This we do know. She was pictured leaving the restaurant wearing a pink lambswool sweater by Scottish brand Campbell’s of Beauty, paired with indigo skinny jeans and white sneakers. The cute pink jumper made a return today for a day of activities that as usual brought out Kate and William’s competitive sides. A picture of the couple racing a pair of land yachts on West Sands Beach was posted to their official Instagram page. The caption said, “20 years on—it was great to return to St. Andrews to see fantastic projects that support the physical and mental health of young people.” The young people in question are young carers from Fife and who were enjoying a day of land yachting thanks to the charity Fife Young Carers.
