The Sugarland frontwoman is set to host the new countrified dating series Farmer Wants A Wife, which will air on Fox, as reported by Deadline. The farm-centric series, based on a British show of the same name, is more of a reboot, as it previously aired on The CW back in 2008. It will follow a group of farmers showing women from the city what farm life is really like as they search for the one to wed, posing the question of how much a person can and should change for the people they love. Allison Wallach, the president of unscripted programming at Fox Entertainment, called it the “world’s most popular dating show” in a press statement, noting, “…we found the perfect pairing in Jennifer, a multi-talented entertainer who’s a little country, a little big city, and huge on heart and humor, making her the perfect choice for wrangling romance in the heartland.” Nettles has a handful of other TV credits to her name, including Dolly Parton’s mother in the country superstar’s Many Colors TV movies, and has previously starred on Broadway in Waitress The Musical and Chicago. Farmer Wants A Wife premieres Wednesday, March 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
