The freak accident took place where the CNBC’s Jay Leno’s Garage host stores many of his vehicles. After one of his cars randomly erupted into flames, Leno was burned on the left side of his face as a result of the gasoline fire. The 72-year-old has been admitted and is receiving medical treatment at Grossman Burn Center. The severity of the burns have not been disclosed. An email was sent to attendees of the conference explaining why the guest of honor would no longer be in attendance. “His family was not able to provide us very many details, but there was a very serious medical emergency that is preventing Jay from traveling,” the communication stated. “All we know is that he is alive, so our prayers go out to him and his family tonight.” Leno himself provided an update on his current condition, saying, “I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am ok. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet,” per a statement obtained by TVLine. All future planned engagements have been put on hold at this time while the veteran TV personality recovers. In 2019, the former Tonight Show host opened up about his health, divulging that he’d been struggling with high cholesterol. After sharing a video of a heart blockage scan, he began to raise awareness concerning the importance of routine check-ups and healthy eating. “We really want people to see the connection, because a lot of people don’t realize high cholesterol — and if you’ve had a heart attack or stroke, you’re increasing your risk for another one,” he said at the time. “It’s like an earthquake, it might not destroy the house, but it certainly weakens the structure.” More News:
