During a conference call in May 2021, NBC Universal Television’s Chairman of Entertainment Susan Rovner said the network “[wants] to honor the fans by making sure [they] have the best viewing experience possible,” hence the midseason start date. “By putting it at midseason, we’ll have the least interruptions possible,” Rovner explained. “I think it’ll be a great event for the fans to enjoy this incredible show.” While we’d hoped that meant getting a new episode every week for the duration of Season 6, there were still some interruptions along the way in early 2022 thanks to the Winter Olympics, as well as President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address. It seems, though, that we’re past all that now and that the rest of This Is Us’ sixth and final season will indeed air on consecutive weeks form here on out. Is This Is Us on tonight?
Yes! This Is Us will debut a new episode on Tuesday, April 5, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The episode is titled “Saturday in the Park” and it will be the eleventh episode of This Is Us’ sixth and final season. “Saturday in the Park” has been teased as the episode where the marriage of Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby (Chris Sullivan) finally unravels for good. The episode’s logline simply states, “Rebecca and Miguel’s anniversary barbecue does not go as planned.” We’re pretty sure that means we’re about to find out why Toby’s Big Green Egg grill will play a critical role in bringing an end to KaToby.
