It stretches from Northern California into Canada. Giant redwood trees that rely on coastal fog for survival are among the fabulous residents. Others are the many species of animals that live in the forest canopy and never touch the ground. If I were writing this 100 years ago, I would have suggested a visit. But now, knowing the impact of civilization on these fairy-tale lands, I think a virtual visit via a documentary is a better way to go.
