A rep for the show told Entertainment Weekly that Goldberg was feeling sick at the beginning of the week and, on Monday, Nov. 14, she received a positive COVID-19 diagnosis. As a result, Goldberg will be absent from The View episodes until she has fully recovered from the virus. This is actually the second time this year that Goldberg got COVID-19, as she tested positive in January with a breakthrough case. Speaking with ABC News at the time, Goldberg said of the diagnosis, “It was a shock, because I’m triple vaxxed, I haven’t been anywhere, I haven’t done anything. It’s one of those things where you think, I’ve done everything I was supposed to do… Yeah, it doesn’t stop omicron.” She went on to encourage people to get vaccinated, saying, “I don’t know how much more proof people need to see that the vaccination – while it does not necessarily stop it from happening again – it is not happening at the same rate that it was.” It’s unclear how long Goldberg will be out of The View, as it’s dependent on how long it takes her to recover. Goldberg is generally the moderator of discussions on the talk show, although co-host Joy Behar also fills that role. On Monday, both Goldberg and Behar were out, as the latter was already scheduled to miss the show and regularly sits out of episodes at the beginning of the week. In their place, co-host Sara Haines took on the responsibilities of the moderator. On Monday, Haines was joined by Sunny Hostin, as well as new permanent co-hosts Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin. The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. EST on ABC. More News:
