According to TMZ, Rich died on Saturday, Jan. 7, at his home in Los Angeles. While no cause of death has been revealed, a law enforcement source told the publication that foul play is not suspected. Rich was famous for playing the youngest child of the beloved Bradford family on Eight Is Enough, which ran from 1977 to 1981.  Known for his recognizable page-boy haircut and his nickname as “America’s little brother,” Rich starred on the ABC dramedy sitcom alongside TV dad Dick Van Patten, who played family patriarch Tom Bradford. Notable actors Grant Goodeve, Connie Needham, Willie Aames, Susan Richardson, Laurie Walters, Lani O’Grady and Dianne Kay starred as Rich’s on-screen siblings.  In addition to Eight is Enough, Rich’s other TV credits included Dungeons & Dragons, Baywatch, Small Wonder, Silver Spoons, St. Elsewhere, Gun Shy, Code Red and more, per IMDB.  Michael Tullberg/Getty Images According to Deadline, Rich was arrested in 1991 for smashing a pharmacy window to retrieve drugs and was bailed out by former co-star Dick Van Patten. Rich was arrested again in 2002 for driving under the influence.  Prior to his death, Rich hadn’t been credited with any roles since 2003, when he starred in one episode of Reel Comedy and made a cameo in the movie Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star.  No further information about his death, survivors, or memorial plans was immediately available.
