Will there be a Black Mirror Season 6?

It’s unclear if Black Mirror will have a sixth season. Creator Charlie Brooker admitted in an interview with The Radio Timesthat he isn’t sure if it’s the right time for a new season of the series and that he’s focusing on work with more levity. “I’ve been busy, doing things. I don’t know what I can say about what I’m doing and not doing. At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart," Brooker said, “so I’m not working away on one of those. I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh.”

Did Black Mirror get canceled?

Black Mirror has not been canceled.

Did Netflix remove Black Mirror?

Luckily, Netflix hasn’t removed Black Mirror from its lineup. You can still watch all five current seasons on the streaming platform.

How to watch Black Mirror Season 6

Black Mirror Season 6 will stream on Netflix, but for a while, that seemed like it was up in the air: ScreenRantreported that future seasons, if produced, may not appear on the streamer. But the reasoning is more business than scandalous: Brooker and Black Mirror showrunner Annabel Jones are the heads of the House of Tomorrow production company, a subsidiary of Endemol Shine. In January 2020, Brooker and Jones left the company to get their own independent contract with Netflix, but Endemol Shine retains the rights to Black Mirror. In summer 2020, Banijay Group purchased Endemol Shine, but noted they were still happy to produce Black Mirror for Netflix. The caveat is that Brooks and Jones would’ve had to agree to continue creating Black Mirror despite not having control over the show.

When is the Black Mirror Season 6 release date?

A potential sixth season of Black Mirror was greenlit, but no release date has yet been set. It may take some time, as Variety reported that Season 6 will be “more cinematic in scope” and that individual episodes of the anthology series will be like movies in and of themselves. As of July 12, 2022, Black Mirror Season 6 was said to be in production.
